Moving in your first apartment can be exciting but also overwhelming. Don't worry we got you!

It's important to know that's it's an important milestone in your adult life. Millions of young Canadian adults move in their first home every year feeling completely left out and confused.

We made a quick checklist of what to buy, which services to set up, and the security+ maintenance tips you shouldn't skip.

Furniture & Living basics:

Kitchen:

3.Security and safety checks

.Check for smoke and carbon monoxide detectors

.Locate breaker panels, water shut-off valve, and fire extinguisher

.Does your building have any cameras, controlled access or on-site staff?

.Check the windows

.Check for hidden mold all around



4.Maintenance tips

.How do you submit maintenance requests ( building contact: phone number and emails and head office location)

.Ask about pest control( frequency and past events)

.Garbage and recycling pick-ups

.How to clean the filters ( air vents and /or range hoods)

Home binder or online fold]er( including your apartment lease or receipts, service agreements, other important letters, and emergency contacts)
